Studio Policies

At UPLIFT Performing Arts, we are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and enriching experience for every student and family. To ensure everything runs smoothly, we’ve outlined our studio policies below. Please take a moment to review them before enrolling.
1. Trial Classes
Free Trial: We offer a free trial class for every age group and genre. No obligation, no pressure — just a chance for your child to experience the studio, meet their instructor, and see if the class feels like home.
Booking: To schedule a free trial class, visit our enrollment page or give us a call.
2. Registration & Enrollment
Season Dates: Our dance season generally follows the Alpine School District calendar, beginning mid-August and concluding after our Spring Recital in May.
New Students: New students are welcome to enroll through the end of April. After that point, enrollment closes as we prepare for summer classes, which run as a separate season. Please note, students enrolled after March first may not be eligible to participate in the Spring Recital.
3. Tuition & Billing
Billing Structure: Tuition is priced weekly but divided into equal monthly payments across the full season, so your bill stays consistent regardless of how many weeks are in a given month.
Auto-Pay: All students are required to enroll in auto-pay upon registration. Tuition is posted to your account on the 1st of each month and drafted automatically on the 10th.
Payment Methods: Payments made by check or cash before the 10th will be applied before your card is charged. Please note there is a 2.9% convenience fee for credit card payments and a 1% convenience fee for ACH payments — no fee for payments made by check or debit card.
4. Additional Fees
We work hard to keep costs transparent and predictable. All additional fees are listed below — there are no surprises. All fees are non-refundable.
Registration Fee: $50 for the first child, $30 for each additional child. Includes Christmas Showcase participation and costume rental, priority registration for the following season, personalized class recommendations, and all yearly studio supplies.
Recital Fee: $120 per class, due in two installments — $60 on November 15th and $60 on February 15th. Covers your costume, recital participation, and two tickets per child per class. All students participating in recitals will receive two complementary tickets.
Ballet Production Fee: $100 per dancer, due October 15th. Covers costume rental and cleaning, production participation, choreography fees, and two tickets to the production.
Musical Theater Production Fee: $65 per student. Covers costume rental, production participation, and two performance tickets. Please note, Musical Theater students are required to sell 10 tickets to the production.
Company Fees: Fees for participation in competition teams or performance companies are due on the 25th of each month. Gets are determined by the age and level of each perfumer and will be calculated upon team placement. For more information, please contact our office.
5. Cancellation Policy
Recreation Classes: Students may drop at any time during the season with no additional fee. A drop form must be submitted before the 15th of the month prior to your intended last month. For example, to cancel for February, your drop form must be submitted before January 15th.
Refunds: No refunds will be issued for classes already attended or for any registration, costume, recital, or competition fees already paid.
Competition & Company Teams: Competition team members are subject to a separate cancellation policy. Please refer to the competition team agreement for details.
6. Attendance & Makeup Classes
Attendance: Regular attendance is important for your child’s progress and the continuity of the class. We ask that students arrive on time — late arrivals miss important warm-ups and can disrupt the flow of instruction.
Makeup Classes: If your child needs to miss a class, makeup classes are available at no additional cost. Reach out to the office to schedule your makeup in any age-appropriate class on the schedule.
Time Limit: Makeup classes must be completed within two weeks of an absence. You are responsible for tracking your own makeup attendance.
Tuition: Tuition is not prorated or refunded for missed classes.
7. Parent Observation
Waiting Area: We have cameras and monitors set up in the waiting area so you can watch class from a comfortable space outside the studio.
During Class: We kindly ask that parents and family members do not enter the studio during class time. Many of our younger dancers have difficulty focusing when family members are present in the room.
Watch Weeks: Special observation opportunities are scheduled twice a year for Tumbling and Acro classes — once in December and once in May.
8. Pick Up & Drop Off
Drop Off: All children under the age of 6 must be walked in and out of the studio by a parent or guardian, or dropped off directly at the door.
Pick Up: Please plan to pick up your child promptly when class ends. Out of respect for our instructors and other families, we ask that you are on time for pickup.
9. Dress Code
Proper attire helps our instructors see and correct technique, and helps students feel prepared and focused in class. All hair must be pulled back and secured during class.
Mommy & Me, Creative Movement & Combo Classes: Any color leotard with footless pink tights. A small ballet skirt is welcome but not required. Pink or nude ballet shoes, or black tap shoes for tap classes. Boys may wear shorts and a t-shirt with black ballet shoes.
Ballet Classes: Any color leotard with pink or skin-tone tights and pink ballet shoes. Small ballet skirts are permitted — no shorts or loose clothing. Hair must be secured in a bun. Boys may wear shorts and a form-fitting shirt with black ballet shoes.
Jazz & Contemporary Classes: Form-fitting leotard or tank top with dance pants or shorts and bare feet. No baggy clothing. Boys may wear shorts and a form-fitting shirt.
Hip Hop, Musical Theater & Vocal Academy: Flexible, form-fitting clothing — no jeans. Clean athletic or dance sneakers required.
Tumbling & Acro: Leotard with form-fitting shorts or pants, or a one-piece gymnastics uniform. Bare feet.
10. Studio Culture & Conduct
Our Standard: We believe every child deserves a space where they feel safe, valued, and encouraged — and that starts with the adults in the room as well as the students.
No Drama Policy: We expect all students, parents, and family members to be respectful, positive, and supportive toward one another, toward our staff, and toward the studio. Negative talk, gossip, or behavior that undermines the confidence or experience of another student or family will not be tolerated.
11. Photo & Video Policy
Recitals & Performances: Photography and video recording are welcome at our Spring Recital, Ballet Production, and Musical Theater performances unless otherwise noted. Specific guidelines for each event will be shared in advance.
Christmas Showcase: Photography and video recording are welcome. Due to limited space, attendance is restricted to immediate family only.
Watch Weeks: Families are welcome to photograph and record during Tumbling and Acro watch weeks.
During Class: We ask that parents refrain from recording through studio windows or doors during regular class time. Our camera system in the waiting area is available for observation.
Social Media: When sharing videos or photos from performances or studio events, please be mindful that other families’ children may appear in your footage. Please avoid tagging or identifying other children without parental consent.
12. Class Cancellations
Notification: In the rare event that a class needs to be cancelled due to instructor illness, inclement weather, or other unforeseen circumstances, we will notify families as quickly as possible via email and text.
Makeups: Cancelled classes will be made up either through a scheduled makeup date or by crediting a makeup class to your account.
Weather: UPLIFT follows Alpine School District closures for weather-related cancellations. If the district cancels school due to weather, evening classes will be cancelled as well. We will always send a direct notification to confirm.
Tuition: Tuition is not prorated for cancelled classes, as makeup opportunities will always be provided.
13. Competition & Company Team Policies
Commitment: Company team enrollment is a one-year commitment running June through May.
Auditions: All competition and company team placements require an audition. A $30 audition fee is due upon registration. Performers will be placed on the team best suited to their age and ability, with their preference taken into consideration.
Dropping from a Competition Team: Dropping from a company team carries a $250 drop fee. All remaining company fees for the season will also be due upon drop. No refunds will be issued for competition or choreography fees already paid.
Attendance & Competitions: All competitions and performances are mandatory. Students who miss any class in the two weeks leading up to a competition or performance, or who have accumulated excessive absences, may be removed from their routines. A re-spacing fee of $150 per routine applies to any student removed from formations without advance notice.
Conflict Notification: If you know of any vacations or conflicts scheduled between January and May, please notify us before August 1st so we can plan accordingly.
14. Accreditation & Homeschool Credit
Recognition: UPLIFT Performing Arts and Learning in Motion Preschool Academy are recognized in the state of Utah. Our programs may qualify for homeschool credit, making UPLIFT a great option for homeschool families looking to fulfill arts and physical education requirements.
Questions: For specific questions about homeschool credit eligibility or documentation, please contact us directly and we’ll be happy to help.
15. Changes to Policies
